Worth Noting: 9.1.2017

In the spirit of savoring the little things, I’ll be sharing a few things “worth noting” to me at the end of every month. I love sharing a great book, show, product or even just a memorable moment from the week. "The little things? The little moments? They aren't little." - Jon Kabat Zinn.

Happy first day of September! Even though the weather is still unseasonably warm, I love knowing that Autumn is just around the corner. As much as I hate the coldness of winter and the brutal heat of summer, I'm still glad to live in a city that gets four seasons! I'm already looking forward to pumpkins on the porch, cups of homemade chai, and cozy sweaters. Until then, I'm soaking up the last rays of that summer sunshine.

Here are some of the things worth noting to me this week:

Health: Love Bug Probiotics

I've taken a daily probiotic for years ever since working with a Naturopath to boost my immune system. Probiotics are so great at aiding digestion and protecting your gut from bad bacteria. LoveBug Probiotics has become my new favorite brand because they work super well and they have different blends for different issues. Plus, they're available at a ton of different places. Highly recommend!

Read: Coco Chanel, the nazi spy?

I've loved reading racked.com recently - they have such interesting angles on fashion topics like this piece on an India fashion designer from Delhi who is reviving handmade clothing. I found this other piece on Chanel particularly fascinating as well. Though it hasn't officially been confirmed, there have been some recent documents suggesting Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel might have been a Nazi spy or had some involvement with the Third Reich. If it's true, it would be quite interesting to see how the brand responds. Thus, the timing of Chanel's recent ad campaign might be a bit ill conceived during the current political climate.

The Eclipse!

While we only experienced a partial eclipse in Northern California last week, the streets were completely blanketed with these shadowy figures which made it feel pretty magical. Looking forward to the next one in 2024!

Design: Studio Fig

Studio Fig is a gorgeous design studio based out of Sacramento -- I adore following the brand on Instagram, and I also happened to win their first contest for some monogrammed products. How beautiful are these stationary items? When I was younger I always thought having things monogrammed was the ultimate sign of sophistication so these items are basically making my dreams come true. Check them out here.
