Mid-Summer Bucket list
The halfway mark of summer is the perfect time to re-create your bucket list. It's like extra incentive to squeeze in those weekend trips and feel less guilty about it because summer will be over before you know it. I’ve soaked up the summer with lots of weekend trips, re: wine tasting in Napa, taking a long weekend to explore Seattle, celebrating my birthday in Austin, Texas and hiking two weekends in a row at a new gem of a spot in Lassen National Park. What I’m still hoping to squeeze in: a weekend in Oakland, CA! That may sound surprising, but Oakland has a lot of charm – plus I CLEARLY need to eat this salad and grab books from here. Fingers crossed I can make it happen before saying goodbye to the warmth of summer, which is especially nice to have when visiting the bay area.
As for the rest of summer days (when not in the office), I’m looking forward to checking off many trips to the farmer’s market for seasonal goodies, more alfresco dinners and lazy evenings reading in the park, plus a few more excuses to enjoy frosé by the pool (why does it taste so good!?).
One thing I won’t miss be missing about summer: the crazy heat waves in Northern California. What’s making it easier is cute dresses and playful patterned tops, like these gorgeous and quirky Jenny Lemons pieces I’ve been wearing on the regular. Watermelons? Bananas? Oh my.
